JERRARD, Robert (Bob) James Dr. Jerrard, born June 22, 1953 in Toronto, ON, passed away at home in Edmonton on Sunday, December 28, 2008 after a two and a half year courageous battle with cancer. For the past 20 years, Bob was a Professor of Mathematics and Computing Sciences at Concordia University College of Alberta. He obtained his Bachelor, Masters, and Doctorate degrees at the University of Waterloo, ON. In addition to his career he also enjoyed singing with the Concordia Community Chorus and a men's quartet. Bob was a dedicated church member living out his personal relationship with God. He had a love of learning and had many interests and hobbies. Bob took great delight in helping others and spending time with family. Bob is survived by his devoted wife Marlene, sons James (Carolyn) and Peter, stepson Keith (Heidi), step-daughters Karen (Dave) and Shauna (Matt). He will also be missed by his grandchildren Jacob, Caleb, Jasper, Lucas, Joel, Amelie and Jenna. He is also survived by his parents Bill and Grace, brother Tom (Ann), nephew Bill (Rebecca), and niece Kathy all in ON. He is predeceased by his wife Joyce in 1996. A Celebration of Bob's life will be held Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tegler Student Centre, Concordia University College of Alberta, 7128 Ada Boulevard, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the Gull Lake Centre, Capital Fund, RR#3, Lacombe, AB T0C 1S0 or the Alberta Cancer Foundation, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6G 1Z2.
