Jansen being the mothers maiden name.It is possible that Jacob & Cornelis's fathers name was Cornelis JacobVan-Der-Veer, or that The first son got his fathers first name and mothers maiden nameand th second son got his mothers fathers name, Jabob. Family records receivedfrom Billy's cousin Jeffery Allig in Portland in 1992/93 estimated the birthof Jacob as about 1600. However, immigration records show the date to belater as about 1630.
