Friends received at the LINK-FOX CO. INC. FUNERAL HOMES 355 Grant St. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Wed., where funeral services will be held Thurs. at 11 AM. Mr. Cornell was a past Commander of Tuscania American Legion Post 174, a member of the Washington Lodge No. 240 F&AM and the Buffalo Consistory and Ismailia Temple. - Henry W. Cornell, World War I Interpreter Services for Henry W. Cornell, 90, former farm equipment sales man, military interpreter and past Legion commander, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow in the Link-Fox Co. Inc. Funeral Chapel, 355 Grant St. Mr. Cornell, who lived in Buffalo, died Sunday (Sept. 9, 1984) at home. In World War I, Mr. Cornell served in France and Germany with the Expeditionary Forces' 16th Engineers and Corps of Intelligence police units. Fluent in both French and German, he served as an interpreter with the latter outfit, achieving the rank of sergeant. After the war, Mr. Cornell be came a salesman for the International Harvester Co. He was born in Lewiston and graduated from Bryant & Stratton Business Institute in 1912. He retired in 1959 from Consolidated Packaging Machinery in Buffalo. In World War II, Mr. Cornell served with the Auxiliary Military Police Force at the old Bell Air craft Corp. on Elmwood Avenue. He was a past commander and 65-year member of Tuscania Post 174, American Legion, which merged In the early 1970s with the Legion's Naval Post. A Mason for 68 years, Mr. Cornell was affiliated with Washington Lodge 240, F&AM, whose members will conduct rites at 8 p.m. today in the Link-Fox chapel. Mr. Cornell was a member of the Buffalo Consistory and Ismailia Temple. Surviving are two sons, James E. of Deerfield, ill., and Henry W. Jr.; a sister, Hilda Schrader of Niagara Falls, Ont.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
