- The James Wells family farmed at Dennington, James and his wife Ann are buried together at buried at the Rendham Independent Chapel. The inscription on their marker reads: Memory of/ ANN WELLS/ died 13 Feb 1799/ Aged 65 years Jas WELLS/ Died 26 July/ 1796 Aged 61 years Dangers stand thick thro all the ground, To push us to the Tomb/ And fierce diseases wait around/ to hurry mortals home/ Then what your thoughts design to do/ Your hands with all their might persue/ Since no device or work is found/ Nor faith nor hope beneath the ground
